Phenolic Ply
Our Phenolic Plywood is sourced from quality suppliers across Europe. Anti-slip mesh Ply and Smooth Ply are available in a range of thicknesses. Stocks of Birch based Phenolic Plywood are legal and comply with international law. Although phenolic board can be sourced from China and/or Russia we prefer to purchase Latvian boards.
Phenolic birch plywood is backed up by Phenolic softwood ply which is usually a combination of timber cores, typically poplar or eucalyptus. These phenol products are suitable for a variety of uses, depending whether the customer requires a durable smooth surface, or a textured ‘grip’ surface.
Smooth Phenolic Ply-Board
Phenolic ply board is a sheet material made from Birch, or eucalyptus, plywood overlaid with phenol film. Purchased as either smooth/smooth but sometimes is purchased as smooth/mesh.
These film-veneered plywood boards have enhanced resistance to insects, fungi, moisture penetration and chemicals. Their surfaces are also smooth and easy to maintain.
Mesh Phenolic Plywood
To make mesh plywood, a phenolic resin-impregnated film is hard-pressed on both surfaces of the plies under intense temperature and pressure. Typically, one face veneer is smooth while a textured mesh pattern is pressed onto the other. It is this imprinted wire mesh pattern that enhances the non-slip characteristic of the mesh plywood.
Applications for Phenolic Board
Phenol ply board is highly resistant to wear and tear. As such, mesh plywood is preferred for transport applications such as trailer and van flooring, boat decking, horseboxes, flight cases, formwork, furniture, shopfitting, and interior design
