Sheet Materials

We stock a wide range of structural and non-structural timber sheet panels. Usually referred to simply as “ply” this plywood is an engineered timber product where each thin veneer is arranged and glued depending on what the board is designed to achieve.

Hardwood Ply Sheet

Malaysian ply is a low-cost ply that can be used in exterior applications provided installed and treated accordingly. Birch hardwood ply is normally stocked from 4mm up to 24mm, a premium product with a clean face for joinery applications. Other hardwood plys include smooth and mesh faced Phenolic, popular for trailer beds and horse boxes.

 OSB, MDF and P5 Chipboard flooring

OSB  is available for structural building applications. Tongue & groove (T&G) OSB sheets are stocked for roofing and flooring.  All our P5 chipboard flooring is T&G, moisture resistant and stocked in 18mm/22mm. Standard MDF is supplemented with moisture resistant, oak veneered and Neatmatch options.

Softwood Ply

Includes structural ply and pressure treated (aka tanalised) ply. Depending on the build specification they can be used in roofing, flooring and walling applications.  Wisa spruce is a quality softwood ply that uses European spruce and is manufactured in Europe.

Insulation sheet

Insulation is sold in sheet form under the Unilin, Xtratherm and Celotex brand names.  This is a multi-purpose rigid insulation board used in new-builds and renovations alike. Normal sizes stocked are 20mm up to 100mm in sheet sizes 1200 mm x 2400mm

Plasterboard sheets

We stock mainly 12.5mm plasterboard and 9.5mm. The thicker size is most often specified because of its improved fire protection, and used to line stud partitioning, ceilings and used in dry lining. Specialist plasterboards stocked include Gyproc Moisture Resistant, Gyproc SoundBloc and Wallboard Duplex fire check.

Box steel and roofing

Roofing includes box profile steel sheeting which is used in a wide variety of buildings including stables, workshops, garages and agricultural buildings. Stock lengths vary from 2.44m (8′ foot) up to 4.88 metres (16 foot) long

Western Red Cedar Shingles are lightweight and suitable for high-end roofing projects.  After weathering they will adopt a pleasant silvery grey shade.
