Remix Post Mix Concrete, aka Post Crete or Postcrete, Maxi Bag, 20kg
Remix Post Mix Concrete is a quick-setting product ideal for the trade customer or end user. Fencing jobs are much easier now with this essential product. Remix is suitable for use in fixing most different types of wooden fenceposts, metal and concrete posts.
The normal rule of thumb for featheredge fences is 1.5 bags per post. However it might need three bags in more challenging installations. The quantity of bags required is probably best assessed by the person on site supervising the digging.
Postcrete is a mix of cement and aggregate, intended to set in minutes rather than 24 hours. The mix is a kiln dried, pre-blended and factory-produced quick setting concrete, which hardens in approximately 10 minutes after adding water. There will be variation depending on whether the sun is out.
Sometimes this product is referred to as post crete, postcrete, quick-set concrete, post-fix, ready-mix or remix. Whatever the brand-name we find Remix Post Mix Concrete is suitable for use in fixing "standard" posts
User Instructions for setting posts
Dig a hole to required size for post, half fill the hole with water and place the post in the hole. We normally recommend a minimum of 450mm deep hole for a 100mm x 100mm square fence post.
The quick setting fence mix is already pre-mixed. There is no need for further mixing. It can simply be emptied straight from the bag into the hole.
Add the Remix Post Mix Concrete uniformly around the post, until it is above the level of water. If any dry powder remains visible at this stage, add additional water until absorbed by the material. If the ground is very dry you might have to wet the post hole before starting.
Adjust the post into position and support appropriately with some batten or possibly some of the timber waste. Don’t forget to use a spirit level, or even a Timco Post Level for setting the posts accurately and easily. Keep the post supported until the material set occurs, after approximately 10 minutes.
After Laying the posts
Once the concrete has set, cover with earth, grass or decorative aggregate, as required
