Next day delivery – suspended March 2020
Next Day Delivery
Whenever possible we offer next day delivery. However during exceptionally busy periods* this may not always be possible. The anticipated delivery day will be advised when you are placing your order.
We offer next day delivery when available for our normal delivery days (Monday to Friday) and normal delivery areas. Customers are requested to phone in before 12.00 pm on the day prior to delivery with their complete product listing, delivery address and payment details. Sometimes we have the flexibility to extend this cut off time depending on area, lorry weights and products required.
*Mainly the Easter & May Bank Holidays and during late May to July inclusive
Delivery Areas and Charges
We would like to make all deliveries free, but the reality is that local* deliveries over £100.00 (ex. VAT) and outlying** area deliveries over £250.00 (ex. VAT) are the minimum thresholds. Under these Invoice values the delivery charges are £10 (ex. VAT) for local and £20 (ex. VAT) for outlying areas. These are referred to as Zone A and Zone B respectively. For more details on delivery areas and charges please see here
Our main delivery area is the South West of England but we can deliver via hauliers larger quantities of timbers including cedar, oak & larch cladding; oak & pitch pine flooring and bulk packs of ply etc. to many parts of the UK mainland.
Delivery Times
Many factors including lorry availability, traffic, access and unloading problems make it impossible to promise timed deliveries. “First drop” is a common request –there are obvious limits to these when a vehicle’s route includes smaller loads on a multi-drop run. Please phone after 9.00 a.m. on advised delivery date for estimates of your vehicles arrival.
All customers are requested to provide at least two telephone contact numbers, especially for the day of delivery – if we cannot contact you then we may have to reschedule your delivery.
Vehicle Access and Unloading
Deliveries are arranged on the understanding that we can gain vehicular access to the delivery address; please advise of any possible vehicle restrictions. Postcodes for deliveries are essential; if there is no formal postal address (e.g. isolated barn conversion or stables) then please provide detailed directions.
Please note that a suitable and secure unloading area should be available within six metres of the vehicles parking space. If there is no suitable offloading place then the customer is responsible for transporting the timber to a safe storage place.
