Sleeper Screws Fixings and Accessories

We stock a mix of Softwood, Oak and UC4 sleepers and there is increasing demand for metal fixings and projects involving sleepers.  The range of accessories is quite extensive and capped by the recently introduced Sleeper Secure range.   

Popular applications for sleepers

Most applications for these fixings are for outdoor projects utilising sleepers –e.g. retaining walls, steps and raised vegetable/garden beds.  

Raised beds provide a degree of planting flexibility, and the garden should be planned, wherever possible, to minimise cutting sleepers. Any timbers that have been machined during installation will experience a shorter service life than sleepers that remain uncut and thus retained their structural integrity.  

Purpose designed range of metalwork

The Sleeper Secure fixings range has numerous spikes, anchors and sleeper brackets available in two finishes, pre-finished steel and brown coated.  This specially designed range can be combined with Sleeper Secure’ s quality screw fixings to optimise the longevity of the timber structure.  Sleeper screws from the same supplier are supplied in containers of 30 or 150 pieces for value and convenience.   

Garden Structures and Furniture

We would recommend using green oak sleepers if you want to make some sleeper tables and benches. Untreated green oak is naturally durable whereas incised and pressure treated sleepers will be exposed and deteriorate more quickly. Oak sleepers, providing you have the tools, can be used to construct garden furniture. Fixings and accessories should be stainless steel and can include stainless threaded bar, nuts and washers.
