Garden Rooms / Summer Houses
Garden Rooms and Summerhouses
Traditional summerhouses have become “multi-functional” buildings acting as a storage area, garden summerhouse, greenhouse, playroom and hobby room. With increased demand for more space so the workload for “garden summerhouse shed” has also increased.
Traditional garden Summerhouse
Rowlinson Gardens still make three models – the Arley, the Clarendon and the Eaton. The Clarendon is an example of a traditional summerhouses, featuring windows on left or right, and part-glazed double doors.
Cabins, Offices and Garden Rooms
Over the last 10-15 years the trend has been towards a newer breed of utility room/day-building because of longer hours spent working from home.
Log Cabins are largely the same as they were. However, bespoke buildings and garden rooms are becoming more popular by focussing on optional extras.
Supplied Finish and Painting
Many timber buildings are now supplied with a “stained factory finish” - a short-term dip finish to protect the new building during construction.
It is vital that the building is situated on a pressure-treated base which allows the air to circulate under the building. Then, when completed timbers need a quality wood preservative within 3 months of assembly. The building must be situated on a tanalised timber base that also allows air circulation.
Deliveries and Installation
Finally, all our garden buildings are delivered direct from the factory. Buildings are delivered to kerbside in flat pack form. Most parts of Mainland UK are eligible for free delivery – check individual products for more detail.
