Gate Accessories

With a wide selection of gate styles and gate sizes we need a good range of gate fixings. From 600mm gate hanging sets down to 300mm sets for pedestrian gates, we can cover most scenarios. Most fixings are in made using a Hot Dip galvanised finish, but we also stock black powder coated and stainless-steel fixings too.

Fixed Hanging Sets

Stocked in 300mm, 450mm and 600mm sizes. These sets comprise a top hanging band (the longest band in the set) a 300mm bottom band plus hammer fixings for attachment to affix to the wooden gate posts. For those who want to know the top band is longest because it needs to take the majority of the gates weight. The 300mm bottom band is to keep the gate steady when it is opened.

Adjustable Gate Hanging Sets

Very much as the fixed set, but with an adjustable band to ensure the gate top rail is horizontal, both immediately after installation but also if the gate post settles during usage. The top rail normally is a double band fixing with threaded carriage bolts. Holes are then drilled through the timber top rail. The bottom fixing has two plates which attach to the largest vertical timber upright of the gate. This is known as the hanging stile.     

One quick note. For the hot-dip treatment to be most effective requires quite a thick coating. It does mean that the metal finish is quite rustic, with the coating varying in thickness. Power coating is a little better, with stainless-steel being the best of all.
