A popular mid-range model, the Beckwood Shiplap Pressure Treated 6x8 Apex Shed. This Forest Gardens shed has a traditional sturdy design, built in Britain and features 2 glazed windows. Designed to withstand the elements, the shed can store anything from a simple spade to bikes, fishing equipment or outward -bound gear. The shed's improved modular design features smaller sections, and same size panels are interchangeable.
Softwood timber construction
The shed is made using robust, interlocking, weather-beating pressure treated shiplap cladding throughout, giving it a watertight seal. This shiplap cladding is 12mm. Timbers used are all mixed softwood and the total weight of the shed is approximately 226kg.
Supported by 30%-thicker framing than found on most wooden sheds, this 6x8 shed is constructed to last. The pressure treatment that has been applied means that this shed is suppied with a 25-year anti-rot guarantee, reducing maintenance to a minimum with no further preservative treatment required. Most other sheds (that haven’t been pressure treated) require treatment every year. Depending on individual circumstances you may want to apply a wax or oil based treatment to prevent water penetrating the shed timbers. When supplied ehe shed colour is a light green/brown natural timber finish.
Rather than using OSB (Oriented Strand Board), this 6x8 shed features an extra-thick interlocking tongue and groove floor. This sturdier floor allows for the storage of heavier items. The roof of this apex shed is made from hardwearing 8mm solid sheet, finished with a durable, quality mineral felt cover for weatherproof protection.
This 6x8 shed’s door features a double-Z frame, giving strength and to prevent door movement. Security is enhanced with hidden hinges and a heavy duty, traditional pad bolt to keep valuable items safe (padlock not included). What’s more, the single door can be fitted with a left or right-hand opening – the choice is yours. Door size is 1695mm high x 590mm wide. Door security is secured via a pad bolt – no padlock provided
The Shed has 3mm acrylic glazing, which is more secure than traditional glass and does not yellow or fade over time. There are two fixed windows and the glazing size is 577mm x 575mm
