Flooring Underlays

One essential accessory - the underlay for floors - plays an important  role in enhancing the performance and comfort of your flooring installation. Choosing, and budgeting for, a new floor should be considered with a suitable laminate flooring underlay.  There are numerous underlays on the market, we prefer Quick-Step underlays because they help to level out the subfloor, provide extra acoustic insulation, and protect against rising moisture.  

Popular laminate flooring underlays include the Quick-Step Silent Walk, ideal for rooms with heavy traffic, typically the living room and hallway. Good noise reduction and high efficiency with underfloor heating. 

Quick-Step’s Unisound underlay is suitable for areas with frequent traffic - living room, hallways, and kitchen.  For use with laminate or solid floor. Compatible with underfloor heating

Quick-Step Basic Plus is suitable for laminate or parquet floors and is compatible with floor heating. Easy to install the Basic Plus also protects against rising dampness. Has good acoustic and thermal insulation properties, best suited for lower traffic areas such as a bedroom or attic.

Quick-Step Transitsound is a noise-reducing underlay and popular for upper-floor rooms. Compatible  with underfloor heating.

Finally the Quick-Step Thermolevel Underlay is the popular choice for installation on top of an existing tiled or very uneven floor. This underlay also provides extra insulation (5mm). Can be used on laminate and solid wood floors.  The Thermolevel underlay has proved extremely popular largely because of the levelling capability of this product.
