Pitch Pine
Pitch Pine Flooring
Our Pitch Pine boards are imported already kiln dried and machined with a surface that can be fine sanded and treated according to individual preference. Pitch pine was widely used in Victorian buildings and valued for its distinctive grain, rich colours and durability. The colours becoming slightly warmer after time. This flooring is very popular for late Victoria properties and projects where wider boards have been specified.
Pine Widths and lengths
The boards are supplied tongue and grooved on all four sides usually referred to as end-matched. This flooring is normally stocked in wide boards, we aim for 175mm and 195mm widths depending on availability. Individual boards are nested into packs of three - each nest contains one full length board and two ‘made to length’ end-matched boards. When these boards are laid they interlock to provide the same length as the full length boards. Wherever possible we source boards in the 3.3m to 3.6m range lengths to provide reasonable working lengths for laying. All our Pitch Pine boards are 20mm thick.

Although we have no matching pitch pine skirting or architrave, but many customers have selected primed MDF which they have then painted in contrasting colours. Alternatively, the pitch pine flooring could be matched unfinished pine skirting and an Osmo colour tint.
