Round Posts and Rails

We offer a comprehensive range of round fence posts and rails, ideal for creating durable and aesthetically pleasing post and rail fencing. Our selection includes a variety of high-quality posts and rails from leading brands, ensuring longevity and reliability for your fencing needs.

Round posts and rail fences are used primarily on larger enclosures. This makes a tractor and rammer more feasible and improves installation time significantly. These are agricultural posts and they will develop splits during prolonged sunny spells.

Round Post Sizes

We keep good stocks of round post and rail fence posts, with post diameters of 73mm, 88mm, and 106mm. All posts are pressure treated and normally available at heights of 1.65m, 1.8m, and 2.4 metre. Typically, 1/3 of the post is dug, or driven, into the ground.

Most of our green-treated round posts are UC4i graded with incisions allowing greater preservative penetration. Customers must register for the Manufacturer's 15-year service life warranty on these UC4i posts.

Even longer service life can be achieved with DURA2 machine round posts. Using European slow-grown timber the posts are kiln-dried and preservative treated. Then the timbers are dried for a second time, followed by another pressure treatment of preservative which goes deeper into the post.   

Rails for fencing posts

The 100mm half-round rails at 3.6 metres are the most popular, with vertical posts must be set at 1.8-meter intervals.  Struts, strainers, and round gate posts are stocked with standard or 15-Year options.  

Alternatively, 38mm x 88mm square-edged rails can be used for sheep or horses. Other related fencing products include galvanised stock fencing, barbed wire, and plain wire in both mild steel and high-tensile options & other fencing accessories.
