ex.32 x 100mm (fin.27 x 94) *SMOOTH* Deckboard Tanalised
Our softwood decking boards are imported in plank form from Scandinavia. The Importer uses redwood for softwood decking because it is more durable than whitewood. These are kiln dried blanks are then machined to a smooth profile deck board. Our main style of smooth deck board has a finish size of approximately 32mm x 122mm, the same dimensions as the Premier deckboard.
We also stock a smaller ex.32mm x 100mm (finish 27mm x 94mm) smooth board, a board primarily for smaller installations. These smaller boards have a shorter joist-span, 300mm-350mm depending on other construction criteria. They are sometimes used for smaller decking areas or in balustrading installations where larger boards, and more supporting joists may be over-whelming. These smaller boards can also be utilised for extra features in a deck - examples include pathways over unlevel ground, raised planters, deck tidy-boxes and fixed seating.
On some decks the smooth boards can be used as a subtle indicator of a change in decking level. This happens most often at deck edges, stairs and steps. They can also be stained with a different colour to emphasise the change in level.
These decking boards are pressure treated with next generation Tanalith-E preservative which provides a 15 year TREATED-RIGHT Performance Warranty against wood decay and insect attack (terms and conditions apply).
Decking frameworks are usually built from carcassing timber and remain largely hidden. This carcassing sub-frame should be supported by timber posts, plas-pro posts or blocks, so that the timber is not in direct contact with the ground.
We stock a range of similar styled newel posts of 1.2m, 1.8m and 2.4 metre lengths. Both handrails and base rails are machined by the same decking supplier and they accept 41mm spindles. We supply square spindles at 900mm and 1100mm, plus lengths of 12mm x 41mm fillet to act as spacers between the spindles.
Finally, we also stock a range of tanalised planed timber from the same Manufacturer as the decking. This means that you can customise the decking design but still get a similar appearance with your finished decking.
