Redwood Flooring
Most people spend a considerable amount of time around their home. There is little doubt that a house’s appearance is important along with its functionality. At Southern Timber we stock products for the house interior, e.g. door linings for practical reasons and other items – composite cladding – for aesthetic appearance.
Redwood Pine Flooring
Solid wood floorboards now share the market with engineered, laminate and heavy duty flooring vinyl. However, redwood flooring boards still have a place in many homes. This is especially the case in slightly older properties where the joists, skirting boards and doors are all set up for 20mm planks.
We stock an ex.25mm x 150mm T&G (tongue and groove) redwood pine flooring. The boards finish at 19mm thick and are structural. Alternatively, you could utilise planed square edge (PSE) boards which are available in ex. 100mm, ex.125mm, ex.150mm and ex.175mm widths. Board widths in the PSE can be mixed, say 175mm interspersed with 125mm widths.
If you do have an outdoor area for entertaining then we also stock redwood TGV boards with a preservative for external. The TGV part of the name indicates a V-Groove which helps water run off the boards.
Getting the designer look
Redwood flooring is an indication of the timber quality, it is a creamy white and gets darker over time. Many customers finish their solid pine floors with a colour tinted hardwax oil – colours include graphite, amber and black. The Osmo Polyx range is popular but ensure you apply the finish sparingly and add more character with some large rugs.
