Keeping Cladding Natural

There is something comforting about wood, an oak front door leading through the wooden floored hallway and into the living area with part timbered walls. Internal timber cladding adds a stylish touch to any home - working well with both modern designs and period interiors.

Design consideration

Choice of Internal wall cladding will depend on what is trying to be achieved. For example tongue and groove panelling would add a traditional feel to a terraced property, particularly if finished with a clear Osmo Hard-Wax oil. Alternatively the internal wall cladding could be confined to one wall and painted in a pastel colour.

The dimensions  of the cladding are also important, ex.100mm cladding makes a small wall look bigger, whereas a wider ex.150mm cladding has the opposite effect.

Practicality of cladding

Cladding can be left as natural wood or painted, and is cost-effective  When you are looking to refresh your home interior, internal timber cladding can help breathe new life into old or unattractive walls. Our range of tongue and groove panelling and butt & bead internal wall cladding is high quality and can transform the look and feel of your home. Larger walls, or damper areas would benefit more from larger panels (2440mm x 1220mm) of MDF cladding.

Keeping it green

Untreated cladding and  tongue and groove panelling  also allows more control over biocides, and other chemicals, brought into the house. Any asthmatics or visitors with allergies should benefit from a lower cocktail of chemicals.
