Some products that we sell are difficult to purchase elsewhere and give us a price advantage.  In the case of HardiePlank and other Hardie products we keep every current colour in stock, but other merchants such as Travis Perkins & Jewsons don’t. Therefore they have to order these specific products in from Hardies (distribution based in Eastleigh, Southampton) with both extra cost implications and longer lead times. Other specialised products that may be viable to send via  the Pallet network include bead & butt cladding, pitch pine flooring and Millboard deckboards.

 Delivery lead times

We try to keep all HardiePlank, trims and Hardie VL items in stock.  A typical web order will be between 40 and 200 boards, and we can deliver to most parts of Devon & Cornwall using our own transport. Depending on the total sale value, and delivery location, there may be an associated delivery charge. Delivery is normally made within 3-7 working days

Outside of Devon & Cornwall we would normally use a Pallet Haulier, because the boards alone weigh in at 296kg-1480 kg. Depending on location we would probably be looking at 5-7 working days, which allows for picking, packaging and transport.  All dates quoted for delivery are approximate and we cannot accept any liability for any delay in delivery for any reason. 

 Pallet pricing – length, location and weight

Pallet deliveries are for larger bulky products. Any orders over 1.2 ton will require a charge to be calculated by the courier. When there is no delivery option available, please call the office on 01803 813803. There are effectively 30 zones for delivery of the pallets. Weight for these zones ranges from 150kgs up to 1200kgs. Pricing for delivery is done at the checkout based on postcode and total weight. 

Order / delivery requirements:

It is vital that customers are available for offloading, checking and signing for the delivery. The delivery to site, or to the customer’s property, will be made to the nearest point that is adjacent to the roadway and clear of obstruction. For this reason their lorry ideally needs to be able to park within 6 metres (20 ft) of the property receiving delivery. Because of the nature of delivery the hauliers will be geared up for delivering to Trade customers, and expect a fork-lift, or several able-bodied persons for offloading the delivery.

 Delivery Access and Offload

The size of the delivery vehicle may vary but the minimum size truck is normally an 18 tonne curtainsider, more often a 34 tonne version. There must be enough room for a vehicle twice the length of a bin-lorry to be unloaded.

Pricing for delivery varies from area to area, we have automated the charges so you can get a price for delivery after product basket has been finalised. Prices will depend largely on the weight and the length of the products being delivered - longer products take up more pallet space. Additionally, the delivery distance is taken into account and we have to factor in fuel price fluctuations on a weekly basis.
